Add a review...Quieter take on a vertical drama
The Falling for a Superstar reunion... except this one felt quieter. More subtle. Much gentler.
Bella and Edward (heheheheh) are childhood sweethearts who grew apart to the point of being unable to recognize each other despite their arranged engagement. In the midst of deception and mistaken identities, they still manage to find themselves falling in love with each other.
I feel like it takes a lot of talent and chemistry between the leads to be able to pull off a vertical drama that is toned down without losing the viewer's attention and Ashley and Jackson have plenty of both. They didn't need the usual intense theatrics and energy that many of these dramas rely on to pull us in and keep us interested.
The storyline was still very vertical drama, but it was played out in a way that was very grounded and closer to how it would have gone had it had happened in real life without the noise and the drama.
