Samuel uncovers Ruby’s role as a academy shareholder who orchestrated Harper’s suffering, avenges Harper by taking down the academy and imprisoning Ruby, then devotes himself to caring for her after she’s diagnosed with a rare illness. Refusing to forgive his unforgivable betrayal, Harper dies in the ICU, her final question—“am I finally a perfect wife?”—haunting Samuel forever.
