Lily Hill receives a diagnosis of late-stage liver cancer during a routine check-up. However, in a moment of confusion, she mistakenly believes that her husband, William Leith, is the one diagnosed. When William ultimately manages to gather $500,000 for her surgery, Lily declares that he doesn’t deserve to be cured and halts the hospital’s arrangements for a liver transplant. Instead, she lends the money to her brother for a new car.
