Sweet, Silent, and Deadly

When Cindy Eaton's stepmother brings her back from the countryside to take her half-sister's place in marrying the sickly Elvis Loeb, Cindy runs away—and bumps into Elvis. To protect herself, she pins him with a needle and takes his jade pendant, only to find out that his grandmother was her missing mother's last visitor. And so begins a game of pretending and following orders, all for her mother's sake.
