The actors made this film. The script and pacing didn’t help them at all. Jordan and Meg sell aching devotion on pure chemistry alone… despite the plot. A stabbing, a coma, a lost pregnancy, and a five-year time jump promise deep emotional wreckage, but the story skims every trauma like it’s afraid to look too closely. Scenes collide without logic (park interviews turning into boxing matches??), continuity vanishes (mystery lunchboxes, sudden props), and the dual-role casting only adds to the confusion. Tricia Connor Jackson’s whiplash villain-to-redeemed-mom arc happens in literal seconds, killing any emotional payoff. The outside locations look staged, the finale jumps from donut filler to attempted murder to proposal in record time, and the pacing never breathes. Strong actors, weak structure; this one runs on yearning, not narrative.
