Worth the Chase

Worth the Chase

In Worth the Chase, Ryan Collins unexpectedly gets together with her best friend and popular football prodigy, Carsen Blake. She hopes their friendship will become something she has secretly wished for: a real romantic relationship. Not one-sided, not transactional, and certainly not something he feels obliged to pursue because of their night together. Her prayers are answered when Carsen confesses his feelings the next day. Three weeks later, a positive pregnancy test forces Ryan to rethink her whole relationship with Carsen. He has to leave for his NFL tryouts in a few days, and making it to the league has been his dream since he was a kid. Not wanting to stand in the way of his bright future, Ryan kisses another man right in front of him. Friendship broken. Love lost to a lie she can never take back. Can Ryan and Carsen still find their way to one another? Will the tiny heartbeat she’s hiding bring them together or tear them apart for good? Characters Ryan Collins Ryan Collins is the female protagonist, an average nerd next door who’s been in love with Carsen ever since they were children. Because of their stark differences, Ryan never considers herself worthy of him. After their unexpected night together, she lets herself believe for the first time that her love isn’t one-sided. Carsen Blake Carsen Blake isn’t your typical star football player: he’s kind-hearted, considerate, and humble. He stands apart from the other students, not only because of the bright future ahead of him, but also because he has someone like Ryan beside him. She’s his world, and her opinions matter more than he admits. Lily Burke Lily Burke is one of the early bullies in the series, Carsen’s ex, and the meanest cheerleader. She hates to admit it, but she’s envious of Ryan right from the beginning. She won’t back down easily and will fight for Carsen until Ryan is no longer in the picture.
